What Is It That I’m Pretending Not to Know?

Today I will muster the courage to interrogate reality

I recently revisited a book that I found really great – Fierce Conversations.  I’d like to spend some time outlining the principles of this book in upcoming posts.

We often avoid conversations that need to happen. We don’t really know how to start them or work through them.

How did you go bankrupt? Gradually, then suddenly.

– Ernest Hemmingway, The Sun Also  Rises

The conversation is the relationship. If the conversation stops, all possibilities for the relationship stop. We become smaller. What degree of authenticity can we bring to our converations? And, the first conversation has to be with ourselves.

What am I pretending not to know about myself and others around me?
